There are two manufacturing processes that OPP cellulose tapes go through prior to being shipped to the customer. The first production process involves a cold rolling cutting process. The OPP tape is then exposed to high voltage alternating current. This process generates a lot of static electricity which bonds the thin layers of the cellulose tape together. The static electricity is generated due to the presence of metal traces on the tape. The strong adhesive bond is created because of the static electricity.
The cold rolling and hot dipping processes are the two different ways that OPP cellulose tapes are fabricated. Each process is effective in their own way. The cold roll forming process is a one step process, where the base material is rolled out and the tape adhered to it through the use of a drum press machine. This is the most common and simple way of OPP coating process.
